TTUHSC/MCH Emergency Medicine Fellowship

WELCOME!

The Emergency Medicine Fellowship at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center of the Permian Basin provides a unique opportunity for primary care physicians to get exceptional and comprehensive training to become competent emergency medicine physicians. The program is recognized by the American Academy of Emergency Physicians (AAEP), and fellowship graduates will qualify for written and oral exams to become board certified in emergency medicine (BCEM) by the American Board of Physician Specialties (ABPS).

Focus

Our ABPS-accredited program is committed to providing fellows with necessary exposure and training to excel in any acute care settings after their fellowship. Our fellows are offered a wide array of clinical opportunities to obtain a well-rounded educational experience with an emphasis on clinical skills taught under the supervision of ABEM board certified emergency physicians.

The West Texas fellowship is hosted at Medical Center Hospital in Odessa, Texas, and Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center of the Permian Basin. Our teaching hospital operates as a Level 2 trauma center and serves 18 counties of the Permian Basin while treating over 100,000 patients annually with over 50,000 ED visits per year. The hospital is also equipped with a state of the art simulation center on its 7th floor and is located adjacent to the TTUHSC-PB medical school campus.
